ABOUT US
Urban Ounce of Prevention Behavioral Health Services, Inc. is a non-profit community-based organization that has served the Akron community since 1990. Our agency specializes in quality health and wellness services that focus on promoting the well-being of inner-city families
The agency provides client-centered, culturally-specific Prevention and outpatient Substance Use Disorder and Mental Health treatment services for inner-city families.
We are committed to making a difference by providing hope and healing to vulnerable individuals who have been traumatized by life challenges and stressors. Our programs and services are created and delivered for the specific benefit of individuals who are at risk of a host of drug, mental health and medical problems.
Our programs are intensive and warmly person-centered because we recognize the difficulty of change for our clients. Because our clients know we understand them and will put great care and effort into the delivery of our services, they respond positively and are motivated to work on their addiction and behavioral health to succeed and obtain healthy lifestyles. With their success they are accessing safe and sober housing, working on educational goals, securing jobs, and reuniting with their families. We believe that this is a direct result of the way we plan and deliver our service.
